Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely!
Regarding our board and train program, it is designed to deliver a well-trained dog to you upon completion of the training. After the two-week training period, we'll also be dedicating 2 hours to providing you with hands-on experience with your dog that will teach you about the equipment and commands we used during the process. It is our goal to ensure you are bringing your dog home with confidence in your ability to continue the training process independently. However, I will remain available for you to contact if you run into any questions or concerns along the way!
Regarding our basic and advanced lessons together, I will work with both you and your pup, teaching you each lesson step-by-step. After each lesson, you will have the opportunity to practice the training techniques at home throughout the week.
It's important to keep in mind that once the training is complete for whichever program you should choose, it's up to you to maintain the progress by consistently practicing the techniques you've learned with your dog.
We like to compare e-collars to using a TENS unit. This means that our e-collars are designed to stimulate the muscles in order to aid in the correction of any unwanted behaviors.
It's important to note, however, that we rely heavily on positive reinforcement and use the e-collar as a tool to help shape the dog's behavior, rather than relying solely on it. Ultimately, our goal is to provide a balanced approach to training, one that utilizes positive reinforcement as a foundation while incorporating other tools and techniques as needed.
We like to remind our clients that our e-collar is a tool that can only be used when it's on the dog. While the e-collar can be highly effective in correcting unwanted behaviors, dogs are not robots and will sometimes test boundaries and make their own decisions. For example, if your dog wants to chase a squirrel - he might just chase that squirrel! However, as long as the collar is on, we can utilize the e-collar to correct the behavior and bring the dog back into a state of obedience.
The e-collar is just one tool in our arsenal, designed to work alongside positive reinforcement techniques to create a balanced and effective approach to dog training.
While we cannot guarantee that your dog will be fully potty trained when they return home, we are able to focus on addressing this issue during our training sessions and provide expert guidance on how to maintain the training once you take your dog home.
Our goal is to equip you with the tools and knowledge needed to successfully continue the training process, so that you can enjoy a more harmonious relationship with your furry friend at home.
As a responsible dog training business, we adhere to Florida state laws and regulations related to dog training. Having a dog off-leash in public areas is not allowed by Florida law, and we prioritize compliance with these laws for the safety of both dogs and their owners. Therefore, we do not offer off-leash training.
However, our goal is to help your dog master walking by your side so seamlessly that the leash becomes virtually unnoticeable. By the end of our training together, you'll be amazed at the level of obedience and control your dog exhibits on-leash!
